In our theatre piece, we tell stories of three trafficked characters, and explore how and if those derailing experiences may (or may not) be overcome. Investigating and representing how the mind/body reroutes that derailed internal flow is the fundament of this piece

We deploy the public mirrors of drama, dance, projection, music and immersive performance-installation to metaphorically depict the manner in which trafficking (external constraint) translates to wounds (internal constraint) inside the body. That is, how bodies receive and process wounds, as well as how damaging inputs ultimately reroute the lanes of the brain

Drama conjoins with dance, image and sound to animate some ways in which this kind of trauma, having affected the brain, manifests in each character’s thoughts, feelings and actions. Will our characters each discover something or someone that helps them re-cast themselves as powerful protagonists in their own story -- ones with courage, who successfully survived, and are, perhaps, recovering agency? Are they able to imagine and embrace that story and discover how to reroute the traffic ties within the mind and body? Their journeys propel this piece
